What it means to live the "Still Life"
At Still Austin, we make our spirit intentionally. That means it's hand-crafted, made from grain to glass, with a focus on quality. We do everything from sourcing our grains to facilitating distillation, from crafting the bottles to designing our own specialty cocktails. From start to finish, a great deal of time and effort goes into every bottle of Still Austin. We call this love for process and craft “living the Still Life.” That commitment to the creative process is something Still Austin holds dear, and we recognize that same love of process in our community.
In this episode of “Still Life,” Austin muralist Kel Brown discusses how jazz and hip hop infuse his work, why he moved to Austin for the art scene, and how he lets his own art surprise him. Steeped in the influence of the Austin abstract artists who came before him, Kel will often work past sundown—without noticing the passage of time.
In this episode of “Still Life,” renowned Austin artist Marc Burckhardt discusses his German-Texan roots, how he made a career of doing what he loves, and how “Austin is its own planet.” Of his iconic Still Austin labels and his work with the Distillery, Marc says, “It was a perfect fit for me.”
