The Musician's Victory: Double Gold at Spirits Competition

When we started this little-distillery-that could, we only wanted to make really great whiskey, using 100% Texas grains, while letting the creative personality of our home city shine through the spirit. Last year, we released our flagship Straight Bourbon, dubbed “The Musician,” and we felt deeply proud of what we’d accomplished. Our loyal fans responded by making the Musician a prominent fixture in the Texas whiskey firmament.

And now, the Musician has truly come into her own.

Last week, Still Austin’s Straight Bourbon was given a “Double Gold” award at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition—perhaps the most prestigious whiskey and spirits showcase in the world. To receive a Double Gold designation, a whiskey must be awarded unanimous gold medals by the entire panel of judges. It can’t be understated what a big deal this is.

So. We just want to say thank you. It’s only because of you—the ragtag group of whiskey fanatics who believed in us, who believed in the power of what we could do with our towering 42-foot column still—that we got here.

And the best news of all? We’re just getting started.
